Developed in parallel with Version 8.3 these further updates extend the ability of Reel aMounts to communicate with other systems.
Reel aMounts can now import, store, manipulate and export additional items of information relating to components, BOMs, work orders and picking lists.
This allows the system to communicate directly with other IT systems more easily and in more circumstances. As a result, manual data input, requiring many key strokes or mouse clicks, can be replaced by direct data transfer from Reel aMounts for more activities, including not only count back, but also material allocation, picking and transfer to and from production locations for example.
The Reel aMounts Data Export program already supplied an easily customisable method of passing data in real–time from Reel aMounts to ERP, warehouse management or manufacturing execution systems. Most commonly, this is done by communication through an SQL database.
There is now also a ready–made variant that communicates via XML messages. Logic within the program allows different messages to be sent in different circumstances – for example at material count back, picking or allocation, or during physical inventory checks. Message formats and element names are easily customisable for a particular installation.
In addition Reel aMounts can accept XML messages, for example detailing new components or released work orders, and update its own database in real–time.
Additional configuration options allow an administrator to control whether operators can override certain particulars of the reel being counted.
Reel aMounts Reporting Centre has been updated with both new and expanded reports to reflect the extra features provided by Reel aMounts V8.3 and V8.4.
This includes the ability to print picking lists for combined kits or family builds. This facility is not available in some ERP systems. The picking report takes into account any planned extra allowances for expected attrition.
